June Naylor leads a BBQ tour to Central Texas this weekend, so sign up fast.

An E-Gullett post on Barbecue Towns caught my interest. If anyone can help this guy determine what might just be impossible to determine, he'd be much obliged.

The Taylor International BBQ Cookoff starts in a couple weeks, and they're looking for judges, and of course attendees. It's a great excuse to hit Louie Mueller Barbecue and Taylor Cafe.

A new review of David's BBQ in Pantego is filed on DFW.com. They liked the turkey and ribs.

And RoadFood weighs in on their take of Home of da Smoke outside of San Antonio. They say it's "worth driving from anyplace" to get there.

Dat's Good BBQ in Lewisville gets some props from NBC DFW. Head over there on the weekends for live music with your BBQ.

Finally, Wild Blue BBQ in Los Fresnos is proud to be included in this year's Texas Monthly BBQ Festival. Will you be there?

Daniel: Any chance you're going to be in Taylor on Aug 21st? Cheers/Chris

That's the plan.

DISCLAIMER:

Each joint is judged on the essence of Texas 'cue...sliced brisket and pork ribs. Sausage is only considered if house made. Sauce is good, but good meat needs no adornment to satisfy. Each review can only be based on specific cuts of meat on that particular day. Finally, if the place fries up catfish or serves a caesar salad, then chances are they aren't paying enough attention to the pits, so we mostly steered clear.
