Update: This joint is CLOSED.

2008: I ordered at the bar, and they did not offer pork ribs a la carte. I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich and a couple of beef ribs. The beef ribs had a nice salty rub, and were very flavorful. The crust was nice, but they could have been more tender. The brisket had the look of a winner with a nice black crust and a good smoke line, but the flavor was surprisingly lacking. It was merely passable roast-beef.

I'm sad you didn't try the pork ribs at Artz... They are pretty amazing - far better than the beef and the brisket. Not I want to go back to TX (used to live there) and just do a 2 week rib eating odyssey! I don't think my wife would like that tho...

DISCLAIMER:

Each joint is judged on the essence of Texas 'cue...sliced brisket and pork ribs. Sausage is only considered if house made. Sauce is good, but good meat needs no adornment to satisfy. Each review can only be based on specific cuts of meat on that particular day. Finally, if the place fries up catfish or serves a caesar salad, then chances are they aren't paying enough attention to the pits, so we mostly steered clear.
